Cost centers are defined in the accounting settings.
The cost center structure is a hierarchical tree-like arrangement where sub-level cost centers under the parent cost center also contribute to the balance of the parent.
There are no restrictions on naming and numbering cost centers, but if numbering is used, it's advisable to align it with the cost center structure for ease of reference.
New cost centers are added from behind the "Add" -button.
In the window that opens, the following steps are taken to set up the cost center:
1. Dropdown menu: Select the header level of the cost center. If there are no cost centers yet or a new main header is needed, leave the dropdown menu empty.
2. In the "Code" field, enter the desired code for the cost center. This information is optional.
3. In the "Name" field, enter the desired name for the cost center.
The new cost center is saved by clicking the green "Save" button.
To deactivate a cost center, open the desired cost center and select "Deactivate".
