Instruction - WiseMarketing: Automating Mailing Lists with Tags

In the system's email marketing section, it's possible to create mailing lists that automatically update based on tags.

When a contact in the CRM is assigned a tag that matches the rules of a mailing list, the system automatically adds them to that mailing list.

Using tags and rules helps to easily keep your mailing lists up-to-date.


Instructions to automating a mailing list with tags

1. Navigate to the mailing lists by selecting "Marketing" on the system's administration side.

2. Choose "Email Marketing".

3. Select "Mailing Lists".

4. Open the mailing list from the list to which you want to add a rule.

​​​​​​​(5. If the mailing list has not yet been created, a completely new mailing list can be created by selecting "Add New".)



6. Select "Edit Rules".

7. Enter the tag in the field according to which you want to create a rule for the mailing list.

"Person's Tag" adds addresses from CRM's individual contacts to the mailing list.

"Company's Tag" adds addresses from CRM's company contacts to the mailing list.

Note! The tag must already exist in the tag management (CRM -> Settings -> Tags), so new tags cannot be added in this section.

8. Press "Save".


The mailing list will now automatically update based on the tags.


When a mailing list is created according to rules, a notification will appear at the top of the page upon opening the specific mailing list: "People are added to and removed from the list according to the rules".

In this case, individuals cannot be removed from the list by clicking the "trash can" icon; instead, they are removed by deleting the specific tag from their profile in the CRM.

Additionally, individuals cannot be added to the list in any other way than by adding to their contact in the CRM the tag upon which the mailing list is based.
